The European company specialized in sports equipment for indoor cycling has just announced the two latest additions to its product catalog. These are the revolutionary and realistic ZBike FREE indoor bike, which is presented as a limited edition with a completely silent freewheel, and the renewed version of its direct drive trainer with optimized design and improved performance, the ZDrive MAX trainer.

And on this occasion it has done so by launching a new model of the revolutionary ZBike and with the optimization of its popular ZDrive roller.
In the specific case of the indoor smart bike, the European brand based in Spain has designed a new smartbike that features the exclusive FreeWheel system, favoring a more realistic feeling in each pedal stroke. And the fact is that the FreeWheel system allows the rider to stop pedaling without the flywheel slowing down or locking up, achieving a very authentic indoor cycling experience. This is made possible by the completely silent freewheel. On the other hand, there is the optimized ZDrive MAX roller that is now lighter and easier to transport, but not only that. It has also improved the estimation of developed power, maximum slope capacity and braking capacity.

What’s new in the limited edition Smart ZBike FREE?
The main novelty of the Smart ZBike FREE becomes evident with the incorporation of the advanced and realistic FreeWheel system, designed so that the rider can enjoy an experience virtually identical to that of using an outdoor bike, since it is possible to pedal while the wheel continues to turn. In addition, the freewheel system is completely silent. As ZYCLE explains, this is the perfect choice for those who have a real passion for cycling. But that’s not all. The Smart ZBike offers an excellent biomechanical fit that adapts to each person and regardless of gender, and this is something that is achieved thanks to the V-shaped frame design and the micrometric configuration of the handlebar and saddle height; but also to its new multi-position cranks that offer options from 165 mm to 175 mm (through 167.5 mm, 170 mm and 172.5 mm). As ZYCLE points out, users will be able to customize their pedaling experience to maximize performance and comfort in every workout.
This new limited edition model also stands out for the low noise level of its transmission system, which is practically null, thanks to its Poly-V belt (a mechanism that also requires no maintenance). On the other hand, like the ZBike 2.0 model, it incorporates an automatic resistance that simulates any route with the main cycling simulators and without the user having to carry out any action, even imitating the sensation of riding a loose wheel. This is complemented by its new magnet motor capable of providing an immediate response to any change in slope or simulated terrain (including simulating the slope up to 20%). Another novelty can be appreciated in the braking system, specifically with its new electromagnetic brake that offers precise and smooth control at every pedal stroke. This system also has an electronic emergency button for safety at all times.
Among the most outstanding features of the new bike are its gear shifter with backlit buttons, its USB port for charging mobile devices, the brand’s exclusive firmware and its latest-generation stable wireless communications. Also the estimation of the power developed with only a 2% margin of error.
A review of the renewed model of roller, the ZDrive MAX
ZYCLE continues to advance in its line to prioritize the highest standards of quality, production technology and vanguard in each of its products, so it has updated its Wheel Off or direct drive roller model with ZDrive MAX. The new roller has an optimized design with the highest quality materials and a lighter weight of only 16 kg for easy transport from one place to another, without affecting the stability of the device. In addition to this, there is a parallel improvement in its braking capacity, which also stands out as another of the great novelties. As explained by ZYCLE, this version improves braking capacity, especially at low cadence, which translates into a more accurate simulation of the climbs to provide an authentic feeling of being in full ascent with shorter developments. They point out that this optimal performance allows you to enjoy an experience closer to the real road and the mountain, and all without user calibration, since it is done in the factory to ensure the most accurate data for more effective training.
Among the outstanding features of the new version of ZYCLE’s direct drive trainer is the great compatibility it offers with all types of bikes, including road, MTB and gravel bikes with wheels from 26′ to 29′. ZDrive MAX is compatible with Shimano / SRAM 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 V cassettes for HG (Hyper Glide) cores, the option to purchase an XDR core for SRAM XDR 11 and 12 V cassettes and with 9 mm, 12 mm and Boost axles. It features advanced wireless connectivity to link to the main cycling simulators in a secure and stable way, as well as connection via USB cable for pc or tablet. Not to forget, on the other hand, that it offers speed, cadence and brake measurements, and that the accuracy in estimating the power developed only presents a margin of error of 2%. In addition, the new model is capable of simulating a higher gradient than the previous version, the latter reaching a gradient of 22% for the most realistic cycling experiences.
Finally, it highlights its automatic resistance adjustment depending on the session to be performed with the simulator, just like the ZBike FREE, just like that of the ZBike FREE. In addition, as with its predecessor, it incorporates a super quiet transmission system to be able to pedal at home at any time and get the most out of each session.
